Living
in Gracay, in the beautiful Berry Region of centre Loire, Duncan MacLaine-Campbell
is a qualified independent Surveyor, serving Depts: 18,36,37 and 41.
Duncan qualified in Glasgow nearly 40 odd years ago. Spending eight years
in the Army after leaving University, then straight into Rentokil as a
graduate intake at the start of his career in Surveying. Joining Richardson
& Starling as a senior Surveyor then becoming a quarter owner and
running the Glasgow office until the Company was bought out three years
later. From then on until now becoming self-employed, undertaking over
£12.8 million worth of projects as an independent Surveyor in the
Western Highlands, Islands and the Central belt of Scotland. Projects
including the rebuilding of the roof of Inveraray Castle, for the Duke
of Argyll after the fire of 1976. Working on Culzean , Brodick and Stirling
Castles for the Scottish National Trust, on Housing Improvement Schemes
, private and commercial projects. More recently undertaking "Design
and Builds". Having had one uncle who was a Surveyor and another
who was an Architect, building was very much part of our family, so it
seemed a natural career choice!
In the last fifteen years doing more work in Russia, Poland and the Ukraine,
working on joint schemes there, helping to train surveyor as part of a
UK initiative. In the last few years being fully involved in applying
for French permits to renovate with "design and builds" on French
property for all sorts of clients who want to make a home here in France.
